On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, UNESCO included Arabic calligraphy in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. 16 Arab countries participated in the file: Saudi Arabia (coordinated), Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
