Makthar Museum

Consists of three rooms, this small museum displays archaeological objects discovered during the various excavations at the site of Makthar or other surrounding sites.

The first room is devoted to the oldest known archaeological evidence of the city: ceramic, glass and especially a series of epitaphs or votive stelae showing the different scripts once practiced: Libyan, Punic néopunique.
The second gallery presents the objects from the Roman period: statuary, honorary bases, dedications ...
The last room is devoted to early Christian and Byzantine Antiquities: epitaphs, funerary mosaics, ceramics, coins, etc..
